Tizonia is a cmdline music player specially for those who love to stream music. Spotify premium, Google Play Music and Soundcloud are the most advertised services which work with Tizonia. However, it doesn’t stop there. Tizonia has every potential to become your one stop music player. And if you share a LAN with friends, you can setup a common music server too!
Tizonia comes with its own multimedia framework based on OpenMAX IL 1.2, which is independent of the known frameworks on Linux, namely, ffmpeg, libav, gstreamer or libvlc. OpenMAX is a royalty-free, cross-platform API that provides comprehensive streaming media codec and application portability by enabling accelerated multimedia components to be developed, integrated and programmed across multiple operating systems and silicon platforms.
