Simple Translate is a tiny translation app for Ubuntu. It is still under development and supports only 8 languages but looks promising. It’s not as powerful as translate shell yet.
There are some glitches around the GUI as well. However, it may not happen on every system and you can give it a try if you are looking for a native app for translation.
Simple Translate supports English, German, French, Spanish, Russian, Ukrainian and Dutch at the time of writing.
To install on Ubuntu, run:
$ sudo apt-add-repository ppa:grabli66-r/eos $ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install translator
Fire the app and check out how it performs.
