mtt: stream movies from cmdline

mtt is a fresh utility for the movie buffs. It can can lookup for movies and stream directly from movietv into VLC. RememberĀ Popcorn Time?

mtt is tweaked to override daily restrictions. Flash is not required to play the videos as the streams are fed directly into VLC.

While we are not sure of how legal the utility is, we chose to write about mtt because it demonstrates how powerful a few lines of code can be. mtt is around 70 lines of python 2.7 code at the time of writing. It works well on Windows too.

To install mtt on any Linux system, run:

$ sudo pip install beautifulsoup4 click requests
$ git clone

mttĀ is simple to use – just search the movie name, mtt lists the matches it has found and shows you a prompt to stream the result of your choice. --help
