Fedora 22 to introduce terminal job notifications

terminalWe explored undistract-me in one of our earlier articles. Turns out Fedora is not willing to lag in interactive usability. Fedora 22 Workstation is going to introduce the same terminal notifications directly in-built into the gnome-terminal application.

The idea behind these notifiers is to alert you when a long-running task completes in one of the terminals you have open. Being a regular user of undistract-me on Ubuntu (because of the number of terminals I work with at a time), I have no doubt Fedora users are going to love this feature. It works all the same even if your terminal is minimized to the panel!

Fedora 22 is in Alpha stage now and the Final release is expected around the third week of May, 2015.
