cloud_compMost of the cloud storage solutions we are familiar with today are either closed source. Open source solutions like ownCloud are self-hosted. disk42 is a new cloud storage initiative trying to change the game. It is in beta stage at the time of writing. The codebase is a fork of Seafile. At this point the developers are working on the encryption layer.

  • Open source. You can look at the code to trust.
  • End to end encryption
  • 10GB free for lifetime (may increase post beta)
  • Files are encrypted before upload to server
  • Password never leaves your device
  • Supports Ubuntu Linux, Windows and Mac OSX
  • Support for Android and iOS planned

Once you create an account and login, you will find an option to download the client.
