LauncherFolders: organize stuff in Unity Launcher

LauncherFolders is a tiny application to organize your favourite and regularly used shortcuts in folders in the Ubuntu Unity Launcher. The idea is simple – when you click on the folder icon it expands to show all the shortcuts you have added to it. This makes it easier to access frequently used shortcuts than typing at dash. The tool is similar to Drawers. Features include:

  • Drag and drop folders to launch in Nemo or Nautilus
  • Add links from Firefox and Chrome
  • Handle different mime types: Apps, Web Apps, Links, Files, Folders and Shell Scripts
  • Dynamically generated icon based on drawer contents

See it in action in the video above. Download directly from the home page or run the following commands:

$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:asukhovatkin/unity-launcher-folders
$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install unity-launcher-folders
