Corntab: crontab syntax simplified

cool_penguin_smallIf you want to run some jobs on Linux periodically crontab is one of the choices available. However, if you are lost in the crontab syntax and need help with using it, try corntab. Corntab generates the configuration syntax for you. It’s a simple 3 step process:

  • Specify the minute, hour, days of the month, months, days of the week, and the command you wish to run
  • Email or copy the generated crontab entry
  • Paste it into your crontab by running crontab -e

Here’s a tool that does the reverse task of corntab – CronChecker. It can analyze obfuscated cron statements as input and explain those in simple English.
